Education

Hello everyone, hoping everyone is having a great day, today I am going to talk about private schools in Chile.

First of all I have to say that I have never been in a private school in my entire educational process, but that has not meant a limitation to get ahead and emerge in life. Well, I will try to answer the following question:

Do private schools offer higher quality education or are they just prestigious?

It is a fact that private education offers a better education in terms of preparation for university entrance, where its students achieve the best scores and therefore have a better chance of entering higher education.

This news shows us the 100 best schools according to the results of the PSU (University Selection Test), where the most outstanding establishments are mostly private schools (95/100) and most of them belong to the Metropolitan Region.

Here is another news that shows us the result of a Simce English test, where 99 of the 100 schools with the best scores are private schools.

So it is a fact that private education is of quality, but at the same time it is very segregated and unequal, since not everyone has enough money to be able to access it.

But there are also many cases in which students from public schools obtain excellent results thanks to their own efforts. But the idea is to improve education in our country, and that this quality is reflected in most schools in Chile and not only belongs to a more privileged economic sector.

That's all for today, byee :)

  1. I totally agree, especially with your conclusion, there is always talk of "Nooo, how public education is going to be worse if such a poor person became rich with effort" and while that may be true, it does not reflect the reality of our country.

  2. Hello! I didn't knew that statistic, I think is a unfair reality because I think that everyone must have the same opportunities but nowadays it is quite impossible, it is regrettable.
